PPRC's proven KEY method takes the guesswork out of functional assessment
PPRC has been using the mobile KEY method longer than any other company in Canada. We have the experience to best use this complex and
highly successful assessment tool.
The KEY method is used by reputable companies throughout North America. It is based on the idea that results should be objective, accurate and repeatable. By objectively analyzing
statistics, we can identify a worker's participation level. This "Client Validity Determination" helps employers judge whether a client is ready for job conditioning or work hardening, or to return to work.
In addition, PPRC has access to more than 100,000 other KEY assessments. This means we can make credible normative comparisons. This kind of data, available only to companies like PPRC, lets us draw reliable
conclusions. That is why Canadian courts accept KEY as the objective and authoritative standard for functional capacity assessment.
Best of all, because KEY can predict outcomes so precisely, it minimizes the risk of
a client being re-injured back on the job. Other methods may be cheaper up front, but if workers are hurt again, that price "advantage" vanishes.
Of 100 workers assessed with KEY, 99 percent safely and successfully returned to work. No other assessment tool can make the same claim.
What PPRC can do for you
Return more employees to work sooner
Functional capacity assessment is proven to increase the return-to-work rate, thereby cutting the cost of an injury.
By assessing what an employee can do, and what the job
requires, PPRC can compare the worker's abilities to the job demands and then list the tasks that the worker can safely carry out.
Therapy intervention helps the worker progress back to the pre-injury level of function.
Using PPRC data, physicians can be certain of a worker's documented functional abilities. This makes them more comfortable with
releasing a worker back to work.
We can show you when a worker is ready to return. It isn't necessary to wait for maximum medical recovery.
Reduce the rate of injury and re-injury
PPRC job reports
show which tasks a worker can do safely. That reduces the number of injuries in the first place.
Of the workers PPRC returns to work, within the levels identified by the KEY assessment, 99% are not re-injured.
Match the worker to the job
We incorporate the results of our functional assessment with vocational evaluation so that we are certain that a worker can meet the cognitive and physical demands of a job.
All workers are ranked according to their performance in a variety of occupational areas. This ensures greater legal defensibility.
PPRC provides accurate, valid and meaningful results that show how skills can be
transferred, gauges the earnings that may be lost and determines employability.
Provide data you can count on in court
PPRC uses protocols that have been designed expressly to reduce legal
liability. We have designed many of these protocols ourselves.
Each file has a checklist that shows exactly what happened and when.
We rely on standardized, objective, reliable, predictive, statistically supported
data. This is the kind of raw evidence you can stand behind in a courtroom or during an arbitration.
Canadian courts have accepted PPRC's testimony and the KEY methodology as a finite measuring tool.
Because we
return more workers with fewer injuries, we make it even less likely that clients will be exposed to litigation.
Justify the money you spend
In today's environment, you have to prove that you are
getting value for money. We document how our treatment program is helping workers. This shows exactly what results you are getting, as well as the cost and benefits of a successful return.
Travel to you
Wherever in Canada you are, PPRC can take its mobile functional and vocational tools right to your doorstep.
Workers can be assessed in the comfort of their own homes, communities or workplaces. Putting workers
at ease improves assessments results.
Mobility cuts your costs and reduces the number of workers who don't show up for the assessment.
