I. Obligations to clients

1. Cornerstone will perform to the utmost of its ability for every client, every time. Every client is entitled to our best work, delivered on time and on budget. It will offer its best advice, but will ultimately abide by the wishes of its clients. Cornerstone will set the highest possible performance standards (see attached), will ask clients for feedback and will act on that feedback.

2. Cornerstone will bill honestly, as will its suppliers and sub-contractors.

3. Cornerstone will protect the confidentiality and privacy of present, former, and prospective clients, within the limits of the law.

4. Cornerstone will not guarantee specific results beyond its direct control.

5. Cornerstone will not represent conflicting or competing interests without full disclosure of such interests to all involved.

6. Cornerstone will treat all clients equally, regardless of size. All clients will be subject to the same pricing structure.

II. Obligations to society

1. Cornerstone will not corrupt the channels of communications, and will avoid disguising advocacy communications as impartial information. Cornerstone will adhere to the highest standards of accuracy and truth, avoiding exaggeration, misinformation and falsehood.

2. Cornerstone will be a model corporate citizen. As far as is possible, it will perform pro bono work, use environmentally friendly practices and avoid discriminatory practices. Cornerstone will not accept as a client anyone promoting intolerance or practicing activities that are illegal, unethical or objectionable.

3. Cornerstone will be prepared to identify publicly the name of the client on whose behalf any public communication is made.

4. Cornerstone will deal fairly with suppliers, fellow practitioners and the public.

5. Cornerstone will respect copyright, will not perform acts of plagiarism and will attribute material where permission to reprint is granted.

6. Cornerstone will, as soon as possible, sever relations with any organization or individual if such relationship requires conduct contrary to the articles of this Code.
